3rd Alarm Fire In Bergenfield

At 1056 hrs, the Bergenfield Fire Department was dispatched to 48 E. Broad St for a report of smoke in the house. Acting Captain Ned Kneisler was first on scene and reported fire showing from multiple windows. He immediately requested a second alarm assignment and then requested a third alarm assignment and a FAST Team from the Tenafly Fire Department. The fire building is an older home that was built with balloon frame construction so units were chasing the fire right off the bat. The home suffered major damage to multiple floors. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. There were no injuries to any firefighters or civilians. |
